How did Aradhana, a native of Kollam Punalur, turn from a man to a woman? Studied from Aradhana Hostel from 1st class onwards. Aradhana’s father left her mother when Aradhana was 6 years old. Since then, Aradhana’s mother took great pains to educate Aradhana and her sister. Mother could not even look at Aradhana and her sister. That is how Aradhana had to study from the hostel from the first class. But what Aradhana got from the hostel was not a good experience. Aradhana had to face a lot of pain, torture and physical harm from the hostel. As femininity began to show at an early age, others started teasing and harassing her. There was a time when Aradhana thought of committing suicide. Aradhana could not complete her Plus One studies because she wanted to be a girl. Aradhana left home saying she was going to work to become a girl and reached Bangalore, where she lived in hijra culture for three to four months. But the cult was getting stuck there so decided to move from there. Reached Coimbatore with the help of a friend. I went to the house of a person who lives in the Hijra culture called Taslee. Aradhana lived there by taking alms. He had to give them all the money he got by taking alms. A person named Taslee physically and mentally harassed Aradhana who told her to go home and see her mother. A lot of work was done. Aradhana says that even when he went there to beg, he had very painful experiences. Many were beaten and harassed. Shabana got a friend for worshiping there. There he met a trans woman named Yazhini and with her help a person named Reema from Coimbatore adopted Aradhana and Shabana as their daughters. It is because of that family that I was able to become a trans woman. Aradhana says that she lives in that family even today. After reaching there, Aradhana’s surgeries take place. The surgeries were done in Coimbatore itself. Aradhana’s surgery was done before puberty. Sharing the ordeal during the surgery. Even though they were anesthetized, they didn’t feel sleepy.
