He was born in 1989 as the youngest son of Advocate Ilical Thomas and Sheela Thomas at Irinjalakuda in Thrissur district. After his schooling at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tovino completed his Plus Two studies at Saint Mary’s Higher Secondary School and graduated from Tamil Nadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore in Electronics and Communication and worked as a Software Engineer at Cognizant Technologies. He appeared on the big screen playing the role of Che Guevara Sudheendran in Prabhuvinte Makkal. Later in 2013, he appeared as a lead in Dulquer starrer ABCD. After that August Club, 7th Day, Kootara, You Too Brutus, Onnaam Lokamahaayudham, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Charlie, Monsoon Mongoose, 2 penkuttikal, Style, Guppy, Ezra, Oru Mexican Apaaratha, Godha, Tharangam, Mayanadi, Aami, Naam, Maradona, Tovino Thomas has acted in more than 30 films such as Theevandi, Abhiyude Katha Anuvinteyum, Kurup and other films. Apart from this, Tovino also played the villain in Dhanush starrer Maari 2
He won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Ennu Ninte Moideen. He won the Best Supporting Actor Award in 2017 for his performance in the film Guppy. He won the Filmfare Award for his performance in Mayanadi.Apart from this, Tovinok has also received Asia Vision Awards, Mazhavil Entertainment Awards, South Indian International Awards, Vanita Film Awards, Flowers Indian Film Awards, Asianet Film Awards, Asianet Comedy Awards, CPC Cine Awards etc. Apart from acting as a co-producer, Tovino is also in the movie industry, and in his own film Kilometers and Kilometers, Tovino was a co-producer in Art.
