Transgender Sahasra: ‘He tied me up and molested me’

 

Transgender Sahasra – This is the story of Sahasra, a native of Angamali. Sahasra was born in a family consisting of mother, father and two sisters. Sahasra had a very painful childhood. Even when I was a child, I had to face torture from my friends and relatives. In his childhood, he was like boys but had to face physical and mental abuse from others. Most of the teasing was from the relatives of the family. Sahasra says that the physical abuse was done by those standing in her father’s place. Sahasra said that she was studying in the hostel from the 6th standard and came home only during vacations but even then it was not a peaceful environment for her. Her father used to beat her a lot. Sahasra had to face the same mishaps in the hostel as well, there were physical abuses there as well. But Sahasra was afraid to say this at home because of the conditions at home. Sahasra was afraid that her father, who kept sneaking into the house, would aggravate the problems. At home, when he expressed his desire to become a woman, everyone except his elder sister opposed him. By telling the others exactly what was said, they also accepted Sahasra’s decision. Sahasra started to understand the changes in himself when he was studying in the 8th standard. Sahasra’s father’s brother publicly made fun of Sahasra many times calling him ‘Shikhandi’ on the road and there was a time when Sahasra even thought of committing suicide. Another relative of Sahasra physically abused Sahasra on the eve of her marriage.

But Sahasra’s father’s family is still not ready to accept Sahasra. Sahasra says that her father’s family members are not on good terms and they have tried to create problems many times by asking them to move out of their place of residence. His father’s mother used to speak ill of him and his mother because of which Sahasra quarreled and fell out with his father’s family. As a boy, Sales worked as a hospital attendant and studied a paramedical course using the income he earned from working as an attendant.

Now she is a dancer she goes to wedding houses to perform dances and brings home the income. Sahasra is telling about the incident that hurt him a lot in his life. Sahasra had this terrible experience when he was in the sixth grade when he was tied up and physically abused by the son of a person who was his father’s relative. Sahasra had to face an even worse experience when she told this matter at home. The father of Sahasra’s abuser tied her to a tree and beat her. Sahasara had a love before. Sahasra used to go to see the person he was in love with. Sahasra says that he said he would help with the surgery. Sahasra met him through Facebook. But the relationship did not go ahead. Sahasra’s surgeries are not complete. Even surgeries have not bothered the Sahasra family. Sahasra is a person who has experienced a lot of pain since childhood.
